House bed

( number of products: 90 )

House bed – children do not like boredom, and most everyday activities, such as sleeping, eating, or getting dressed, are often associated with just that: boredom. Our house bed changes that. Going to sleep in the evening becomes a unique adventure: one night in a forest cabin, another in a castle or a tipi – it all depends on our imagination and the imagination of our child. On top of that, the solid craftsmanship and natural materials make children quickly realise that sleeping in such a bed is simply enjoyable.

Luletto house bed for children

A house bed is one of the most popular pieces of children’s furniture in Poland and across Europe – and for good reason. Its distinctive roof turns ordinary bedtime into an evening adventure, creating a cosy, private space a child can truly call their own. Luletto is a Polish family-owned manufacturer that has specialised in house beds for years – made from class 1 glued pine wood, finished with eco-friendly water-based paints, and designed to suit every stage of childhood.

In this category, you will find dozens of models: from minimalist designs without a safety rail, to versions with a straight or fence-style rail, as well as wide Duo models and versions with a practical drawer (Plus). Each bed is available in many sizes and colours – from natural wood to white, grey, and walnut shades.

What is a house bed and why do children love it?

A house bed is a bed frame with a characteristic pitched roof mounted on vertical posts. This simple architectural feature transforms a mattress into something much more exciting: a little house, a castle, a tipi, or a forest hideaway – depending on the child’s imagination and the decorations added to it. A string of lights, a canopy, or colourful cushions are enough to turn the bed into a favourite spot in the room.

From a parent’s perspective, a house bed is a multifunctional piece of furniture. Its low design close to the floor minimises the risk of falling, and when the child grows older, the roof can be cut off, turning it into a classic children’s bed. You can find a full selection of accessories in the Decorations category.

Material and craftsmanship – class 1 glued pine wood

All Luletto house beds are made from carefully selected class 1 glued pine wood. Glued wood is more durable than solid wood – it does not crack and has no knots, which guarantees long-lasting structural strength. Every element is hand- and machine-sanded until smooth, and the edges are rounded to eliminate the risk of injury.

Only eco-friendly water-based paints are used for finishing – hypoallergenic, odourless, and certified as safe for children. The beds are available in several standard colours: white, grey, natural wood, and dark walnut. Drawers and additional accessories are made from solid wood. If you prefer wood without any varnish at all, explore the PureWood Collection – beds made from solid pine wood with a natural finish.

A guide to the models – how not to get lost in the range

The naming system in the House Bed category is easy to understand once you know the key. Each name consists of a base model and optional extensions:

No suffix – basic model without drawer and without rail
DUO – a version with middle entry
PLUS – a version with one or two drawers under the mattress
DUO PLUS – combines the middle entry of the Duo version with the drawer(s) of the Plus version

Classic house bed

The simplest and most affordable Luletto house bed model. A clean, minimalist form without a rail – ideal for children who do not need side protection or who value freedom of movement. The Classic Plus version (from PLN 998) comes with a drawer.

Barierra house bed

A classic house-shaped design with a rail integrated directly into the structure. The rail is not removable, creating a stable and visually cohesive whole. Available in Duo and Plus versions.

Pioli house bed

One of Luletto’s bestsellers. A bed with a removable front rail (standard length 1/2 of the bed, with an option to extend to 2/3). A minimalist design with clearly visible slats. Available in a wide range of sizes – from 120 × 60 cm to 200 × 90 cm. The Pioli Plus version comes with a drawer.

Classic HouseBed

A house bed without a rail – clean lines and a roof without any extra elements. Intended for older children or parents who prefer minimalist design. The Classic HouseBed Plus version is available with a drawer.

HouseBed with straight rail

A HouseBed version with a full, smooth front rail. The straight rail is an elegant, continuous board running along the front of the bed – without slats. Available in the Duo (wider bed) and Plus (with drawer) variants.

HouseBed with fence rail

A HouseBed with a fence-style rail – slats spaced evenly apart, referring to the motif of a small fence. This is one of Luletto’s more distinctive and recognisable designs. The gaps between the slats are approx. 5 cm. Available in Duo and Plus variants (with drawer).

Coco house bed

The Coco model stands out thanks to its distinctive asymmetrical roof shape. Available without a rail, with a straight rail, or with a fence rail, in Duo and Plus variants.

Bello and Bello Duo house beds

Bello is a model with clearly emphasised vertical side posts that give the bed a strong architectural character. The Bello Duo version is wider – ideal for children who like plenty of space. The Plus version is available with a drawer.

Bianco and Bianco Duo house beds

Bianco is a white, elegant house bed in sizes 200 × 140 cm or 200 × 160 cm – one of the largest sleeping surfaces in the range. The Duo version has slightly different roof proportions. Both are available in a Plus version with a drawer.

How to choose the right rail option?

The rail is one of the key choices when buying a house bed. Luletto offers three options:

No rail – for older children (over 4–5 years old) who can get in and out of bed independently. Best for minimalist interiors.
Straight rail – a full, smooth board running along the front of the bed. Subtle, visually light, ideal for modern interiors.
Fence rail – slats spaced approx. 5 cm apart. More decorative and distinctive, reminiscent of a country garden or alpine bedtages.

Plus version – is the drawer worth it?

All Plus models are equipped with one or two drawers under the sleeping surface. The drawer can hold bedding, toys, seasonal clothes, or – when fitted with a thin mattress – it can serve as an extra sleeping space for a guest or sibling. This is a space-saving solution, especially valuable in small rooms.

Frequently asked questions about Luletto house beds

From what age can a house bed be used?
Luletto house beds are intended for children from around 2 years old – that is, from the moment a toddler leaves the baby bed. Models with a rail provide safety for children aged 2–5. Older children and teenagers usually choose versions without a rail. The beds can support a load of up to 100 kg.

How long can a child sleep in a house bed?
Thanks to the availability of sizes up to 200 × 140 cm, a house bed can serve a child from preschool age right into the teenage years. When the roof no longer suits an older child’s taste, it can simply be cut off – leaving a solid, classic bed frame.

Is the slatted base included in the price?
Yes. Every bed comes with a sprung slatted base made of flexible slats. The base is not permanently fixed – each slat is attached to the frame using special holders. For sizes 200 × 120 cm and 200 × 140 cm, the base is flat and made from solid wood.

Can the house bed be customised in terms of colour?
Yes. Luletto offers several standard finishes: white, grey, natural (untreated wood), and dark walnut (water-based stain + clear varnish). The colours shown on the website are for reference only – their appearance may vary depending on monitor settings.

Are house beds available with a mattress?
The mattress is not included in the set. You can find the right option in the Mattresses category.

What is the difference between a house bed and a tipi bed?
A house bed has a pitched roof – rectangular, symmetrical, inspired by Scandinavian architecture. A tipi bed has a triangular roof, pointed at the top, inspired by a Native American tent. Both forms create a cosy, house-like space, but they differ in visual style.
