Bunk bed
( number of products: 9 )When the room size does not allow for two separate beds, but the need for sleeping, playing, or studying space is urgent, bunk beds and loft beds are the perfect solution. In this category, Luletto offers carefully designed models of loft beds and true bunk beds, each created in the brand’s characteristic style – Scandinavian, eco-friendly, and made from class 1 glued pine wood or raw natural wood.
Loft bed – one sleeping space, free space below
A loft bed has a sleeping area only on the upper level. The lower space remains completely open – there is no second mattress or bed frame underneath. This area can be arranged however you like: with a desk, cabinets, a toy basket, or as a play or reading corner. A loft bed is the ideal solution for one child who needs plenty of floor space for play, especially in a small bedroom.
Bunk bed – two sleeping spaces on two levels
A bunk bed has two full-sized sleeping levels – each with its own mattress, slatted base, and safety rail. It is a solution for two children sharing one room. Both levels are fully functional: the lower bed sits just above the floor, while the upper bed is positioned at approximately 120 cm above the floor.
Materials and craftsmanship
All models in the Bunk Beds category are made from carefully selected class 1 glued pine wood – more durable than solid wood, free from knots, and resistant to cracking. The elements are hand- and machine-sanded until smooth, and all edges are carefully rounded.
Each bed comes with two sprung slatted bases (for bunk bed models) or one slatted base (for loft beds), included in the product price.
Safety – what you need to know before buying
The upper level in all models – both loft beds and bunk beds – is intended only for children aged 6 and over. This is a manufacturer requirement based on safety: children under 6 should not sleep on the upper level due to the risk of falling out at night or overly energetic activity near the ladder.
All models are equipped with protective rails on the upper level (height from 29.5 to 32 cm from the bed frame) and a four-step removable ladder that can be mounted on either side. The edges of all elements are rounded.
The beds require gluing during assembly using a water-based glue included in the set. The glued structure ensures the stability required for the child’s safety on the upper level. After assembly, the bed should remain unused for at least 24 hours until the glue is completely dry.
Required ceiling height – check before ordering
This is one of the most important parameters when choosing a model, so it should be checked before purchase.
It is recommended that a child sleeping on the upper level has at least 60–80 cm of free space above their head. In all models, the upper sleeping level starts at approximately 120–123 cm above the floor.
Ladder – how it works and how to install it
In all models, the ladder to the upper level is removable and can be mounted on the right or left side. This allows the bed layout to be adapted to the room arrangement. The ladder has four steps (approx. 9 cm wide) and is approx. 161 cm high (Basic models and loft beds) or 141.5 cm high (HouseBed Bunk Bed). The ladder width is usually 40 cm, and in the HouseBed Bunk Bed model it is 50 cm.

Frequently asked questions
From what age can a child sleep on the upper level?
The upper level in all Luletto models is intended only for children aged 6 and over. This manufacturer requirement applies to both loft beds and true bunk beds.
Is the lower level of a loft bed used for sleeping?
No. A loft bed has only one sleeping level – the upper one. The lower space is completely open and not built in by the manufacturer. You can place a desk, chest of drawers, toy basket, or create a play corner there. This is the key difference between a loft bed and a bunk bed.
Do the HouseBed Loft and HouseBed Bunk Bed have the same roof as the house bed?
Yes – the roof in the HouseBed bunk and loft models is structurally the same as in the single-level house beds from the House Bed category. The difference is that in bunk and loft versions, the roof is positioned much higher – above the upper level, on posts reaching 173–180 cm.
Do both levels of the bunk bed use the same mattress size?
Yes. In the HouseBed Bunk Bed 190 × 90, both levels use a 190 × 90 cm mattress. In Basic models and their variants, the mattress size is the same on both levels. The mattress fits into the frame by approx. 3 cm – when buying a mattress, you always choose the same size as the bed.
Can the ladder be mounted on the left or right side?
Yes. In all models, the ladder is removable and can be mounted universally – on the right or left side, depending on the room layout and the chosen wall placement.
