How to choose the right bed?

Why Choose a House Bed for a Child?
A child spends a lot of time in their room. It is where they play, dream, rest, and sleep, so it is worth carefully planning this space to support their development and well-being. Besides choosing pleasant wall colors, matching curtains, and other decorative details, you will also need to decide on the right bed for your child. A wooden house bed is a wonderful choice, as it adds charm, warmth, and coziness to a child’s bedroom.
As the name suggests, a house bed has a distinctive shape. Not every child can have their own treehouse, but every child can enjoy a bed with a house-shaped frame that creates a cozy and private little space.
What child does not dream of having their own playhouse? From the day they are born, their senses begin to awaken and develop, and with every year their imagination grows stronger. Children naturally long for adventure, even if it happens in the comfort of their own room. A house bed offers endless possibilities: with a blanket draped over the roof, it can become a little witch’s hut or simply an intimate hideaway where the child can feel slightly separated from the adult world. If you arrange pillows along the rails, the bed can transform into a ship on a stormy sea or a hot air balloon that must be lightened to rise higher.

How to Choose a House Bed
When choosing a bed for your child, it is worth considering a few important factors.
First of all, think about how long your child is expected to use it. Up to what age will they sleep in it? And will it later be used by a younger sibling? If you have an only child, it may be worth considering one of the larger sizes so that the bed can last into their teenage years. Some of our customers, when their teenager no longer wants to sleep in a “house bed,” simply remove the upper frame, turning it into a more standard bed.
If you have several children, a smaller bed size may be enough, which can also save space in a shared room. Luletto also offers house beds with a drawer, to which you can add a mattress. This allows two children to sleep comfortably in one bed, while during the day the drawer can be pushed back in to free up more space. The drawer can also be used as storage for bedding and/or toys.
The second important thing to remember is the durability and quality of the materials used to make the bed. Is it painted with child-safe paints? Will it withstand lively play and provide many years of restful sleep?
Luletto beds are made from carefully selected Class 1 laminated pine wood. The wood comes from plantations specifically intended for producing furniture-grade laminated timber for children’s furniture. Laminated wood is more durable than solid wood and free from common imperfections: it has no knots and does not crack.
The final thing to consider is the bed’s color. Should it remain natural, or would you prefer a color associated with the child’s room style or personality? We use water-based paints that are eco-friendly, hypoallergenic, and odorless, making them safe for children.
