House Bed – A way to regain privacy in the bedroom

We love cuddling our children: they smell wonderful, we want to care for them, and we love them deeply. That is why many parents initially sleep with their little ones in the same bed, as it makes it easier to soothe and feed the baby. However, month by month, the child grows, becomes more mobile, and finds all sorts of ways to take up as much space as possible in our bed.
There are at least two ways to move a child to their own room and bed: you can do it gradually or all at once.
How to Gradually Get Your Child Used to a New Room?
If your little one is one of the more sensitive children, a so-called high-need baby, we recommend helping them get used to a new sleeping space gradually. You can choose together with your child the design and colour of a house bed or tipi bed that they like best, and then assemble it together in your bedroom next to your bed. Next, we suggest decorating the bed with stickers, garlands, or other simple decorations – perhaps a new plush teddy bear will make sleeping there more enjoyable. A new, colourful bedding set with their favourite animals will surely also bring your child a lot of joy. When the bed is placed in the same room as yours, it will be easier for your little one to adjust to sleeping separately. Once you feel they are ready, you can move the bed together into the child’s bedroom.
A New Bedroom for Your Child – A New Comfort for Parents
The second method works better for slightly older children: together with your child, you choose not only the bed but also arrange the whole room so that they will not want to leave it. Once they see how beautiful their bedroom is, it becomes much easier for them to give up squeezing into one bed with you. Sleeping in a tipi instead of an ordinary, boring bed is quite an adventure. The same goes for resting in their own little “house.” Your child will also quickly notice that they sleep better alone on a comfortable mattress. We also recommend choosing a cheerful night lamp that will chase away fears and help children fall asleep peacefully.
Of course, at first there may still be some “nighttime journeys” to your bed. This is completely normal, and it is best to allow it so that your child does not feel rejected. This will speed up and make the whole “move” easier. It will be even easier if two children are “moving,” or if one child already has their own bed in their own room. In that case, a new bed with a sleeping drawer will be the perfect solution. Siblings will feel more comfortable sharing one room.
All that remains is to wish everyone a good night!
