From what age can my child sleep in a house bed?
This decision is very individual, but we recommend our beds for children from around 1.5 to 2 years old.
Depending on your child’s needs, you should consider the bed size and additional options.
In the case of bunk beds, we recommend the top bed for children aged 6 and over.
What bed size should I choose for my child?
Choosing the right bed size is one of the more difficult decisions – children grow really fast! :)
Below are our approximate recommendations:
- 140x70 / 140x80 / 140x90 – ideal up to around 4–5 years old
- 160x80 / 160x90 – suitable up to around 6–7 years old
- 180x80 / 180x90 / 180x100 – works even up to 8–10 years old
- 190x90 / 200x90 and larger – comfortable even into the teenage years
Of course, everything depends on your child’s individual needs and the space available in the room.
How long will the bed last?
It all depends on how the bed is used – whether it is intended only for sleeping or also as a place to play. The lifespan of the bed is a very individual matter, and there is no single universal answer.
What is the maximum load capacity of the bed?
The maximum bed load capacity is approximately 100–110 kg.
For a drawer with sleeping function – approximately 80 kg, while drawers intended for storage of toys or bedding have a capacity of approximately 20 kg.
Our beds are designed for children, so we consider these values fully safe and suitable for the construction of our beds.
What mattress should I choose for the bed?
For our beds, we recommend a mattress thickness of no more than 9–12 cm.
This is due both to the height of the safety rails in our models – a mattress that is too high may reduce their functionality – and to aesthetic considerations, in order to preserve the proportions and visual lightness of the bed structure.
The exception is models with a straight safety rail, where for safety reasons we recommend mattresses with a minimum thickness of 15 cm.
The mattress dimensions should be exactly the same as the bed size, e.g. 160/80 = 160/80.
When choosing a mattress for a drawer with sleeping function, please choose a mattress with a maximum thickness of 9 cm. The drawer mattress is 10 cm shorter, i.e. bed 160/80 = mattress 150/80.
An exception applies to drawer mattresses for beds measuring 200x140 cm and 200x120 cm. In these models, the drawer size is 200x100 cm, so the mattress should measure 190x100 cm.
What material are the beds made of?
Our beds are made of Class 1 glued pine wood.
It is a high-quality material that is ecological and environmentally friendly.
The exception is the PureWood collection, which is made from solid pine wood.
What is the reinforcing strap for the slatted base used for?
It is used to control the range of the slatted base arch, which reduces possible squeaking of the bed and damage to the slats.
What kind of paint is used to finish the beds?
The paints we use are water-based acrylic paints, non-toxic and safe for children.
What is the difference between a lacquered bed and natural wood?
The main difference is that a lacquered bed is protected.
It is more resistant to dirt and easier to keep clean.
The clear lacquer used on our beds is a water-based product, which means the wood color becomes darker and more pronounced, and under the light a delicate sheen of the lacquer will be visible.
However, many customers choose a bed in the raw, natural wood version.
Customers appreciate natural wood because it is soft to the touch, smoothly sanded, and dirt can be easily removed, for example with fine sandpaper. Please note, however, that the color of the bed will naturally darken and become more pronounced over time.
What is the difference between quick shipping beds and other beds?
Quick shipping beds are delivered to you within a very short period of time.
Because they come from a separate production line, they are already packed and ready for dispatch, which means they cannot be modified in any way.
The other beds in our offer are made to order according to the lead time stated for each model. These beds can be modified based on the options available on our website.
How can I tell the beds apart?
In our offer, you will find more than 100 bed models.
Each bed has some difference – whether in shape, roof design, or safety rails.
The beds also differ in the number of available modifications.
What is the difference between the PIOLI model and the BIANCO model?
The models share the same basic structure, but the key difference lies in the rail bars.
The PIOLI model features round bars in the safety rails.
The BIANCO model has a fence-style rail made of flat slats.
In the PIOLI model, the rail height is approximately 23 cm from the bed frame, while in the BIANCO model it is approximately 30 cm.
What is the difference between the PIOLI model and the BELLO model?
The models share the same basic structure, but the key difference lies in the rail bars.
The PIOLI model features approximately 5 cm spacing between the bars, and only the front safety rail can be removed.
The BELLO model has bars spaced approximately 8 cm apart and all safety rails can be removed.
What is the difference between the CLASSIC model and the HOUSEBED CLASSIC model?
The difference between these beds is significant.
They differ mainly in their construction.
Although both models are characterized by the absence of safety rails, at first glance it is clear that the roof elements look completely different.
In the CLASSIC model, the roof is open, while in the HOUSEBED model, the roof is closed.
Are the safety rails removable?
Many models in our offer feature a removable front safety rail. We also offer Bello and Fello models, in which all safety rails can be removed.
The exception is models with “Maxi” in the name, which have all safety rails fixed permanently.
What is a chimney?
A chimney is a decorative element consisting of three small pieces that form a rectangle mounted on the roof beams of the bed.
The roof elements are designed in such a way that the customer can decide where and on which side the chimney should be placed.
What is an additional roof beam?
A roof beam is an element that connects the roof parts together at the back of the bed.
An additional roof beam is an element that connects the roof parts together at the front of the bed, creating the effect of a full, closed roof. It mainly serves a decorative function.
How is the slatted base made?
The slatted base is made of flexible wooden slats for bed widths from 60 cm to 100 cm.
Each slat is mounted individually to the bed frame using appropriate plastic holders and screws.
For bed widths of 120 cm and 140 cm, the set includes a flat slatted base made of solid knotty wood.
How is the drawer mounted under the bed?
The drawer is mounted on wheels that do not scratch the floor.
The drawer is not attached to the bed – these are two separate elements.
The drawer has stoppers on the side elements to prevent it from sliding out completely from under the bed.
What is the difference between a drawer and a drawer with a sleeping function?
A storage drawer, thanks to the appropriate MDF board bottoms, allows you to store blankets, bedding, or toys!
The drawer with sleeping function is equipped with a second slatted base, which means the drawer can be used as a second bed.
Unfortunately, we do not make both options at the same time. When placing an order, please specify whether you choose a storage drawer or a drawer with a sleeping function.
Of course, it is possible to purchase both the drawer bottoms and the slatted base separately. Just contact us by email!
Can I order two drawers for the 160 cm size?
For sizes 120 cm / 140 cm / 160 cm, we make one drawer.
Double drawers are only made for sizes: 180 cm / 190 cm / 200 cm.
Does the bed need to be glued during assembly?
LULETTO beds require gluing with the water-based glue included in the assembly set during self-assembly.
A glued bed ensures proper stability and safety for the child.
Once glued, the bed should be left motionless to dry for at least 24 hours.
What is the order lead time?
The lead time is always stated next to the specific bed model.
The lead time is not affected by the paint finish, the bed model, or the size.
Orders are processed in the order they are placed and once the payment has been received.
Why is the order lead time so long?
The beds are made to individual order, which is why it takes time.
All our beds are produced to order according to the selected modifications.
The lead time is stated next to the selected bed model on our website.
If time is important to you and you cannot wait for the standard lead time shown on the website, we also offer bed models that are available immediately in the QUICK SHIPPING section.
These products cannot be modified, as they are packed and ready for dispatch.
We ship them within 48 hours after payment is received.
